About Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking is one of the most complete forms of excercise you can do, plus its outdoors, sociable and fun. Its loosely based on cross country ski-ing, which is where it originated as a summer training technique. By using poles in a dynamic way when we walk we use nearly 90% of our muscles and burn 46% more calories than when we walk without poles. Once you've perfected your technique you will tone you upper arms (no more bingo wings!), trim your waist and tone your legs and bum. Nordic walking is great for releasing tension in the neck and shoulders and has been shown to be really beneficial for RSI and back problems.
